Responsible for day to day operation of separately managed accounts (SMA) function, a key component of the role is ensuring all client transactions are executed accurately and timely within ASX and business rules. 
 
The person in this role will have a high attention to detail to ensure trading and processing are accurately completed. They will be the first point of contact for any internal stakeholder queries relating to SMA or corporate actions and also be the primary interface to external custodians, investment managers and financial institutions

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing, controlling and settling client transactions to a high standard - cash and security
  • Daily oversight and sign off of all reconciliations 
  • Ensuring corporate actions are researched and processed accurately and booked in a timely manner
  • Ownership and processing of monthly fee accruals and reporting incl. performance
  • Researching and troubleshooting problems within the SMA/Operations area
  • Relationship management with investment managers
  • Documenting process flows, creating and updating procedures manuals for the functions performed
  • Contributing to the development of process improvement, reducing risk and increasing controls
  • Sharing knowledge of processes and systems within the team and broader organisation
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery 
  • Take on a range of year end and tax responsibilities and ad-hoc projects 
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in a Middle Office environment from a Fund Manager, Stockbroker or Custodian.
  • Strong MA or SMA background will come highly regarded
  • Strong operations background and client delivery and service experience 
  • Exposure to IRESS
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Microsoft office suite)
  • Good knowledge of market participants including counterparties and data providers
  • Sound understanding of investment markets and the broader finance industry
