The Company
This leading agribusiness has been servicing the Australia-wide rural community for more than a century. Understanding the seasonality of Primary Production, this division of the business tailors solutions to meet financial lending requirements.
The Role/Individual
Drawing on a commercial expertise, the successful candidate will manage risk by reducing overdue debt and minimising doubtful debt provisions and write-offs. The role will require the fostering of relationships with clients and external stakeholders, including some travel to rural areas throughout North-East Queensland.
Duties:
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Manage the approval of credit limits & applications;
- Manage the collection of overdue debt >31 days;
- Manage the annual review process per Credit Policy;
- Assess and underwrite credit submissions within delegated credit authority;
- Engage with RFM’s, specialist credit advice and guidance on deal structure;
- Visit customers on-site to conduct key account reviews or lead in complex negotiations with customers / BM’s / RFM’s around facilities / payment plans dispute resolution;
- Managing relationships, both within the business and those with customers and related parties.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate would possess all of the following:
*** Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial credit role, with experience in Debt Recovery and collection
- Financial risk assessment
- Must understand PPSR – AML, relevant Credit & Privacy Legislation & SH&E Legislation
- Knowledge of lending criteria and securities
- Ability to read and understand Financial Statements: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Strong commercial acumen
- Advanced Excel skills: Strong data analysis skills
• An agricultural background (upbringing or professional experience)
• Tertiary qualifications in the Finance or Banking field
• Ability to build rapport & relationships with Internal (RFM’s, Legal, Branches and Regional Operations Directors) & External stakeholders (Customers, associated Accountants & legal advisers)
