Assistant Accountant
We are a privately-owned family group of diversified businesses based in Ulverstone. Due to growth within the business group, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team.
This is a part time role of approximately 30 hours per week. Days/hours of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate. This position is initially for a 6-month contract with the view for permanency following the contract term.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of various monthly management/statutory reports
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger & perform reconciliations as required
- Preparation of BAS’s & IAS’s
- Liaise with the Financial Controller & assist with cashflow planning
- Preparing and making EFT payments
- Customer and internal invoicing as required
- Prepare aged debtor listings
- Liaising with suppliers regarding account inquiries
- Assist with weekly payroll, statutory reporting and payments
- Monthly credit card reconciliations
- Support general administration functions
Key Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role/s
- No formal qualifications required but welcomed (CA, CPA, Degree or Diploma)
- Proficient in Excel and MYOB, experience in SAP B1 an advantage
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to assist with ad-hoc tasks outside of above scope!
