Role:

  • Accurate and timely production of Financial and Management reporting inclusive of insightful and detailed analysis of the businesses that assist financial decision making.
  • Deliver improvement in internal reporting and decision support to effectively influence high level decision making for the company and its businesses.

Responsibilities:

Month End - Ownership of the Month End Closefor a particular entity including:

  • Preparation and posting of GL Entries
  • EnsureGLtransactions are recorded accurately and correctly
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations are produced, cleared and maintained
  • Liaise with the business to understand and educate the team on any key commercial developments for relevant entity
  • Liaise with HR/Payroll Department to ensure accuracy of payroll transactions
  • Liaise with Head Office to proof and substantiate all inter-company bookings
  • Produce accurate MI reporting for Board and Global senior management - This involves variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior month.As well as written commentaries and an understanding of relevant non-financial KPIs and market movements
  • Prepare and review of BAS return prior to submission and assist Global tax with any queries where needed
  • Highlight and implement appropriate process Improvements and efficiency gains

  • Year-end duties
    • Completion of consolidation entries for year-end
    • Effective management of year end statutory audit process
    • Preparation of statutory accounts as required for relevant entities and assist with auditors’ queries and deliverables
    • Assist with preparation of FBT return
    • Answer Head Office queries and support the preparation of any commentary/analysis for Group annual results announcement
    • Assist Global tax with annual company tax returns

  • Other duties
    • Preparation of annual budget
    • Preparation of forecasting process twice a year
    • Continual process improvements, driving efficiencies and time saving actions
    • Support, coach and mentor junior staff
    • Authorise payroll, client and supplier payments on banking platforms
    • To meet ad-hoc requests for information from business headswith strong analysis and problem solving
    • When dealing with internal or external contacts ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of our business
    • Cross skilling with other team members to ensure appropriate backup for critical team tasks eg. Daily Cash Reporting & Segregated Funds Transfers
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant technical accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
    • Ensure the integrity of financial data by adherence to agreed procedures and controls, and clarify or rectify any irregularities
    • Maintain and develop procedure documentation, incorporating effective internal controls
    • Changes in reporting requirements (accounting, regulatory, audit) are addressed proactively and implemented
    • Undertake such other duties, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

Key relationships:

  • Financial Controller APAC and Head of Finance APAC
  • Will be a key contributor to the finance relationship with the business. Liaising with a number of departments (including: Marketing, Business Intelligence, HR, Compliance, Operations, Banks and Audit) as a part of their day to day responsibilities
  • UK Global Finance and Global Tax/client money




KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


Essential

  • Qualified accountant - CA / CPA or equivalent
  • Financial Services experience or ASX listed company experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills (this role will require interaction with senior internal clients)
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge - modeling/macro knowledge preferred
  • Self-starter with a desire to learn and influence change, particularly process improvement
  • Experience of an accounting package (preferably Oracle Financial, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and spreadsheet server)

Desirable

  • Previous investment, stockbroking or banking industry experience
  • Knowledge of ASIC and ASXcapital requirements
