About the business
Ascendas Reit is Singapore's first and largest listed business space and industrial real estate investment trust. It has a well-diversified portfolio of 103 properties in Singapore and 32 properties in Australia as at May 2018. These properties host a customer base of around 1,390 international and local companies from a wide range of industries and activities, including research and development, life sciences, information technology, engineering, light manufacturing, logistics service providers, electronics, telecommunications, manufacturing services and back-room support office in service industries etc.
AREIT's Logistics and Business Park properties in Australia are located in the key cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The customer base comprises 3PLs, local retailers (supermarket, department store), local pharmaceutical and healthcare product distributors.

About the role
- Responsible for all finance and compliance matters of the Group's Australian operations (logistics and sub-urban office)
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance accounting team and service providers
- Review financial and management accounts, budget and dividend/distributions of corporate and managed trusts
- Prepare/review BAS, FBT, Income Tax and other Australian taxations of corporate and managed trusts
- Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure its alignments with business and HQ requirements
- Monitor regulatory compliance of managed investment trust with both Australian and Singapore regulatory requirements, including MIT, AFSL, Collective Investment Scheme (Singapore), and obligations of Significant Global Entities
- Act as a business owner in design and optimisation of accounting, reporting, forecasting systems and enhancement of internal controls; act as a solution provider in transactional and reporting issues
- Enhance portfolio reporting and analysis along with other Business Units
- Advise financial, tax and regulatory impact of transactions
- Establish/maintain relationship with key lenders and recommend financing decisions
- Any other projects as assigned by the CEO and CFO
Skills and experience
- Chartered accountant qualification or equivalent
- At least 10 years of working experience in finance
- Real estate fund management industry experience and familiarity with regional regulatory regime will be an advantage
