Due to a recent promotion we have a great opportunity for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join this growing national services business. The business is an industry leader in its field with a turnover close to $800m in this division alone. The business sits within a larger international group reporting in to the US who will provide the right candidate an opportunity to progress both internally and internationally.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage and develop a team of senior accounting professionals and the Shared Services team, with a focus on increasing the level of value add reporting provided by the Australian group. Your key challenge will be to provide high quality insights to international stakeholders and local leadership on group performance, achieved through driving the group reporting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting process. You will also be charged with improving existing processes while up-skilling the Finance and Accounting team

Specific Duties to include:- 

• Assist in promoting divisional and corporate Plans, and assist in further development and refining of the Group Business Plan.
• Coach, develop and up-skill the Finance and Shared Service team 
• Contribute to the proper management of Group financial resources.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports including financial analysis, using financial models, spreadsheets and other analytical tools, as requested.
• Prepare technical accounting papers with respect to judgmental items for the external auditors and for consideration of the Audit and Risk Committee.
• Support the preparation of externally released documents, including the annual report, trading and operational updates, and other media releases.
• Prepare the CFO presentation to analysts for the half-year results and year-end results.
• Coordinate the monthly company performance report for senior management and the board. Support investor relations by meeting with analysts and investors.
• Lead finance streams of projects with internal stakeholders such as group tax, group legal and treasury.
• Manage the external audit process for the Group.
• Contributing to maintaining a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX.

To be considered you will need to be:- 

• Experienced in delivering a centralised finance function
• Strong understanding of SOX
• Demonstrated track record of leading & managing a team
• Track record of driving process improvement
• Strong influencing / business partnering skills
