Hanrob Pet Hotels (www.hanrob.com.au) one of Australia's professional pet services organisation in pet accommodation, dog training and doggy daycare, is searching for a motivated and well organised Financial Accountant to join the corporate team.

This exciting role is quite diverse and requires a team player who is willing to lend a hand across all areas of the finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller the Financial Accountant will be primarily responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet and provide accurate and timely information to the executive team and business unit managers. Ensuring that all activities are conducted compliantly in accordance with all Federal, State, Industry Legislation, Regulations, Standards & Guidelines, you will also assist with month- end and year-end statutory reporting and other financial compliance requirements.

Primary responsibilities:

• Month-end reporting (Accruals, reconciliations, true-ups, fixed assets and foreign currency adjustments);
• Fixed asset register;
• Capitalise, review and manage fixed asset register for capital work in progress accounts;
• Document and post manual journals for various financial transactions;
• Document financial transactions on an ongoing basis including banking transaction coding, GST journals, maintaining prepayment schedule and GL reconciliation monitoring;
• Assist with budget preparing and quarterly financial forecasts;
• BAS, IAS, Payroll tax;
• Ad-hoc accounting duties

Secondary responsibilities:

• Assist with payroll and worker’s compensation;
• Assist accounts payable and receivable;
• Assist with bank and clearing account reconciliations;
• Assist with the maintenance of the ERP systems; and
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and KPIs targets.

Essential:

• Relevent tertiary qualification with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience; and
• Working towards membership in a recognised professional accounting body (CA or CPA).

Your Knowledge & Experience:

• Proven experience in corporate accounting and reporting with strong understanding of accounting concepts, principles and standards;
• Proven track record of working collaboratively to drive efficiencies through process change and continuous improvement;
• Proven experience in system change and ability to drive process improvement initiatives;
• Strong understanding of key business processes and systems; and
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
