We are a dynamic young team of importers located in Kings Cross, Sydney.
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper / accounts officer to join our team on a part time basis for 1 day per week.
You will be responsible for all payroll, bank account management and reconciliation tasks. Experience in Xero is an absolute necessity. This position would suit a diligent, number savvy person, with an eye for detail. We are looking for someone who is confident and autonomous, and understands the demands of a growing business.
Duties Include
- Accounts receivable and payable
- Providing reports and information as required
- Customer invoicing and debt collection
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly via Xero
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet via Xero)
- Generating claims for warehouse and transport anomalies
- Quarterly BAS, TAX and ATO compliance
- ASIC renewals and documentation
- Work with an accountant when necessary; in particular with regard to recognition of profit and reconciliations for year end.
- Payroll for staff and superannuation
Skills and experience requirements
- Experience using Xero accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially excel
- Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
- At least a certificate IV Financial Services in bookkeeping or accounting
- At least 5 years experience with bookkeeping
