ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take on broader commercial responsibilities. In this role, you will have ownership of the accounting and finance functions of this successful entity, manage a small, productive, professional team and work directly with the Principal involved in all aspects of the investment portfolio. Your role will be varied and include the hands-on management of all facets of the day to day accounting and finance aspects of the business including the accounting, tax functions and cash flow for multiple Trusts and Companies, contracts, tenant leases, finance facility agreements (both as a borrower and lender) and ad-hoc commercial matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, mentor and work hands-on with a small and productive team of professionals.
• Liaise with external legal and accounting advisers and implementation of their recommendations and instructions.
• Prioritisation, coordination and completion of key issues for the business, its staff and advisors.
• Manage the monthly/quarterly accounts cycle; debtors, creditors, bank recs, BAS, IAS, FBT, wages, superannuation and cash flow (3 years forward) for multiple Trusts and Companies.
• Preparation of internal reports, property management schedules and tenant outgoings.Preparation of and QA of all statutory accounts and working papers through to the preparation of ITRs for multiple Trusts and Companies produced in consultation with external advisors to ensure compliance with all statutory and ATO requirements.
• Implementation and maintenance of all internal accounts systems, registers and procedures for existing and new entities.
• Maintenance of existing, and establishment of new, Companies and Trusts and all associated files, documents, Deeds and Minutes.
• Management of finance applications, facilities, loan documentation, reporting and compliance with CP’s (both as borrower and lender).
• Creating and managing correspondence, documents and filing systems.
• Lead the periodic review and implementation of process, filing and systems improvements.
• Support the Principal of the business in relation to the day to day operations as well as feasibilities, analysis, due diligence & planning for strategic decisions.

ABOUT YOU:
Ideally, you have 5-10 years of broad accounting and finance experience with a demonstrable track record in managing staff, external relationships and competing priorities, a sound understanding of all accounting and tax issues and exceptional attention to detail.
In addition to being self-motivated, highly organised and exhibiting a proactive/hands-on management approach to your area of responsibility you will also be analytically minded with a high level of “commercial awareness” and common sense, to ensure the optimum commercial outcome of your decisions and actions at all times.
The successful applicant will be appropriately rewarded with a remuneration package commensurate with the nature of this role. Experience in property investment/development would be highly regarded.
