This is a rare opportunity for an accountant with a business services background to make a career leap into a Financial Accountant role within a highly successful construction company.Are you ambitious, energetic, and driven enough to take your career to the next level? You don’t need to have experience within the construction industry – our client is ready and willing to give you the training and skills to succeed. They will mentor you to complete or undertake your CPA/CA.
We are seeking a qualified financial accountant who currently works for an accounting practice, servicing individuals and small to medium businesses. Construction industry experience is not necessary, but a minimum 2-3 years’ experience in financial accounting, with skills in tax accounting, are essential.

They are committed to providing a supportive and engaging work environment for their staff, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow their skills under the mentorship of a highly regarded construction industry professional.
The finance team are a close-knit group who look forward to welcoming a new addition to their social, supportive and friendly team!
The role:
- Prepare, Analyse& Forecast Cash Flow
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process standing journals, general journals & project cost journals
- Reconcile and transfer Payroll to the General Ledger
- Calculate and review Work In Progress for all company Projects
- Prepare Monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheets
- Prepare Monthly Management Report for Senior Management review
- Compile monthly and quarterly BAS & PAYG instalments
- Assist in compilation of annual budgets
- Assist Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Payroll functions when required
- Prepare FBT workpapers and FBT Return
- Prepare End of Financial Year workpapers, reconciliations and Annual Report
- Any other assignments as required
- Co-operate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the Company and take all reasonable care that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others
- Knowledge of OHS responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OHS training
You will need to display the following qualities:
- An energetic, proactive and confident attitude.
- Outstanding communication skills – you will be involved with project reviews on a monthly basis in which you will need to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Bachelor of Business/Commerce Degree (or equivalent)
- CPA/CA designation or currently studying towards completion
- Leadership skills, strong time management and organisational skills, problem solving, analytical skills and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Exposure to ERP System (mid-tier), CHEOPS (preferable but not essential).
- IT troubleshooting skills are highly regarded.
