A publicly-owned organisation is looking to take on a Junior Financial Accountant on a 3-6 month contract with the potential to go permanent. The business is going through a period of change and growth and they require additional help over year end. 

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist the Financial Accountant in preparing the financial information for the month end process. 
• Review and post inter-company transactions (including cross charges or allocations) and reconcile on an accurate and timely basis.
• Prepare and fully reconcile the general ledger balances for the entities on a timely basis for review by the Financial Accountant.
• Provide support to the Financial Accountant to understand transactions and the impacts on the financial information prepared.
• Assist in the maintenance of the Fixed Assets for the selected entities.
• Relief full function accounts payable and receivable. 
• Assist with monthly BAS preparation. 

The successful candidate will be working towards their CA/CPA qualification and have previous experience at an Assistant Accountant/Finance Officer level who is ready for their next step. You will have some semi-annual statutory and financial reporting experience or would have exposure to this. 

You will be available at short notice to take on contract work with the likelihood for longer-term opportunities for the right candidate.
