About the business
We are looking for a full-time accountant to join us in our Sydney office. DSM (Pacific) Pty. Ltd is a diamonds and jewellery wholesaler with presence in Sydney and Melbourne and catering in entire Australia market.
About the role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting financial investigations and data analysis, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising financial matters such as purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud and taxation
- Examining operating costs, income and expenditure in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
- Preparing financial statements for presentation to directors and ATO
- Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations
- Preparing taxation returns
- Liaising with banks and brokers to establish funds management arrangements
- Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
- Maintaining internal control systems
- Appraising cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects for the business

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Australian qualified accountant
- Minimum one year's accounting experience in jewellery industry preferred
- High degree of professional ethics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word and accounting system
