The Firm
This 2nd-tier, Brisbane CBD based chartered accounting firm provides services in Corporate Finance, SMSF & Business Services, Insolvency and Audit. Their advisors work with SMEs, family businesses, listed entities, professionals, individuals and government. The firm has 145 staff members that enjoys a very strong social culture.
The Role
This firm is seeking a technically competent auditor at a senior level. Within this role, your main duties will include:
- Liaising closely with a diverse set of clients
- Conducting audit engagements from beginning to end
- Researching and analysing financial statement and audit related matters
- Running assignments, with minimal supervision
- Planning audit engagements
- Supervising junior audit staff
- Special purpose audits
- Assisting the corporate finance team with assignments
- Preparation of job budgets for audit engagements
- Reviewing /preparing statutory financial statements prepared under IFRS and relevant regulations
- Preparing the audit opinion over the financial statements under relevant regulations
The Individual
A successful candidate will possess:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Completed or on final subject of CA/CPA qualification
- End to end audit experience including client management
- Exceptional written and communications skills
- Strong client relationship skills
- Established assurance/audit skills and an understanding of audit techniques and methods
- Demonstrated commercial and client focus
- An understanding of IFRS or Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Australian Auditing Standards (ASA) and relevant legislation applicable to assurance engagements
