Steel Mains is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of complete steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solutions approach to its customers.
We are currently looking for an experienced Plant Accountant to join the team at our Somerton plant in Victoria. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closely with plant and other mangers across the site this role will ensure they maintain the internal control environment, valuation and control of inventory, deliver open and on-going management reporting and financial support for the plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Forecast, review and analyse the Profit & Loss to ensure the accuracy of monthly forecast and providing commentary for significant variations
- Ensure the accuracy of Inventory for the plant, by maintaining accurate standard cost and associated cost models for the plant, leading the bi-annual stocktake, and monthly cycle counts and inventory reconciliations
- Compile and review monthly operations scorecard & other reporting for the Somerton plant
- Complete month accounting & associated ledger reconciliations for the plant
- Championing the continued evolution of the ERP system and supporting hardware for the plant
- Ensure existing systems and procedures are followed to provide controls, safeguarding of assets and the efficient execution of financial activities.
- Provide financial leadership and day to day finance support activities for the site
The successful candidate will be an experienced in cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting including variance analysis having worked in a similar role. We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to communicate and interact across levels of the business.
