Sunshine Mitre 10, is a circa $130M annual turnover Sunshine Coast based business with fourteen stores located throughout Queensland. We are a recognised leader in Retail and Trade Hardware supplies to the building trade and to the Retail/DIY customers. Employing a workforce of over 350 people throughout Queensland, Sunshine Mitre 10 has experienced rapid growth in the past five years. A fulltime position at Head Office based at Nambour exists for a Financial Accountant.
Reporting to Chief Financial Officer you will be responsible for the leadership & development of the core finance team in the effective implementation of the finance actions, targets & goals in line with the annual business plan.
Key Duties:
- External Compliance and Reporting including profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet
- Financial Reporting including Preparation of Audited Annual Statutory Accounts
- Responsible for strong financial management and internal controls of group finances and assets
- Lead and manage the management accounting and internal reporting function
- Identify and implement improvements to business systems and processes
- Assist the CFO and executive to drive revenue and profit via intelligent reporting and analysis
- General ledger management and balance sheet focus
- Supervise head office accounts payable and accounts receivable function
- Preparation of monthly BAS, PAYG and payroll tax obligations
- Administration of the company Banking and Merchant facilities
- Asset accounting and administration
The successful applicant will need to have:
- Strong hands on financial accounting and management skills
- Degree qualified and completion of CPA/CA (audit background preferred)
- 5 years' experience in commercial industry environment
- Exposure to a fast moving/high inventory environment an advantage
- Experience in a multi-site environment preferred
- Advanced skills with Excel & Microsoft office
- Strong analysis skills
