The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and based in the CBD, this role will see you drive business outcomes ensuring that clients expectations are consistently met. This role is critical to the ongoing success and continued growth of the business and you will be entrusted with autonomy and responsibility. 

Specifically, you will:
  • Manage and mentor a team of up to 12 book-keepers, locally and remotely
  • Manage the efficiencies and effectiveness of your team by ensuring that deadlines are met, through workflow management systems
  • Co ordinate professional development for your team members by identifying and supporting your staff with relevant training options
  • On board and manage key accounts
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of work through regular reviews
  • Assist with detailed reporting and statistical analysis, reporting on practice management system and monthly reporting
  
The Person

This role will suit a driven person who is looking to broaden their existing accounting/book keeping experience by driving team outcomes and be part of the growth of this division. You will be motivated by success, enjoy managing, mentoring and coaching people as well as delivering quality service to your clients.

You may be currently working as a senior accountant or book keeper or run your own book keeping business and are looking for stability, growth and career progression. 

We are looking for the following specific sets:
  
  • A high level of accounting / book keeping knowledge and can demonstrate significant experience with small business accounting
  • Possess the ability to conduct BAS/GST reviews and quality checks, prior to lodgements.
  • Provide proactive and effective leadership to their team
  • Attention to detail, organised and pro active
  • Be able to build strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ideally have workflow management experience
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft experience, including experience with cloud based software ( desirable)
  • An accounting degree/registered BAS or Tax Agent, Xero Certified consultant - highly desirable
