The Company
Our Client, a rail industry innovator in Australia that is working with world-leading technology in the passenger train space, is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to commence immediately and hit the ground running in a high volume role.
Your Role
The role is for two days a week, eight hours per day, with the days on which you work negotiable. A friendly and fast paced environment, based in Melbourne’s vibrant Docklands, this is a great temporary assignment!
Your core accountabilities will be general payroll processing data entry, resolving payroll queries, developing and downloading payroll system reports, and maintaining and filing appropriate records and documents in accordance with protocols. Additionally as payroll officer, you must:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of input data and documentation to facilitate payment of salaries, wages, allowances, expenses, and costing
- Provide information as required to relevant external authorities
- Identify specifications and requirements
- Manage, use and maintain administrative systems
- Schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
About you
You are an enthusiastic, self-motivated and knowledgeable payroll officer with experience using computerised payroll systems with demonstrated knowledge of industrial awards, industrial relations and WorkCover claims, policies and administration procedures. You will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with exceptional communication skills.
It is highly desirable that you have a tertiary qualification in an appropriate HR function and ADP Payforce experience.
You will also have the ability to act in an advisory capacity and ability to follow occupational health, safety and environmental procedures in the rail industry
