The Role

Operational Duties

  • Debtors – ensure client invoices are issued accurately and follow company policy regarding the timeliness of invoicing schedules.
  • Manage debtor payments to maintain cash flow requirements and to ensure no potential bad debts arise.
  • Creditors – ensure accurate processing and allocation of expenses across the company. Managing payment of creditors via monthly banking schedules.
  • Banking – reconcile all banking facilities including staff credit cards and bank accounts on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate records and process employee benefits including salaries, bonuses, leave entitlements and relevant deductions. Ensure all payroll tax and payment summaries are reconciled and produced as required. Track leave entitlements and bonus plans including reconciling sales resuts.
  • Provide various transactional reports and banking updates when required.

Financial Reporting and Budgeting

  • Produce the company budget after consultation with key stake holders in the business for presentation and sign off by the board of directors.
  • Assist the CEO in the development of business plans, business case analysis and benchmarking or projects.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and year end management reports including analysis of variances, performance against budget and rolling forecasts. This includes Cash flows, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports along with all account and accrual reconciliations.
  • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.
  • Provide financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices and developing recommendations.
  • Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health.
  • Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial accounts, tax return, FBT returns, BAS and PAYG returns.

Relationship Management

  • Manage and conduct all interactions with external accountants/auditors as well as the ATO, Office of State Revenue, default Superannuation Funds and ASIC.
  • Liaise with the board and shareholders with regards to financial reporting, questions and dividends.
  • Work with and support other areas of the company including HR and sales.

Business Agreements and Arrangements

  • Ensure all Insurances for the Company are reviewed, renewed and financially allocated appropriately. This includes, but is not limited to Workers Compensation, Business Insurance, Event cancellation policies, travel insurance and director’s liability insurance.
  • Management of all business name registrations and Trademarks, lodgements and renewals.
  • Conduct cost reviews with large regular suppliers including managing tender processes and lease agreements where required.
  • Contribute to the development of systems, tools and resources to automate processes and procedures for the business.

Who you are

  • CA/CPA qualified with at least 5 years experience
