A key client is seeking the services of a Finance Analyst (Billing) on a short term 2 month contract.

You will be responsible for undertaking a number of business activities in relation to the Data Migration and Billing Transformation from the Legacy systems to the new Costpoint Billing system. This will include reviewing existing processes for Billing to develop new and modified Billing processes under the guidance of the Finance/Billing Lead. The initial work will incorporate preparing our off-system Billing undertaken during 2018 for recording in the Costpoint Billing system. The role will work with the Australian Finance teams to ensure that changed business processes for Billing are established successfully.

  • Analyse billing/financial data in preparation for recording in the Costpoint system
  • Report on financial performance and preparation for regular leadership reviews
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial billing reporting
  • Evaluate financial billing performance by comparing and analysing actual results
  • Guide cost/billing analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Provide analysis of billing trends and forecasts and recommending actions for optimisation
  • Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting financial billing data and making comparative analysis
  • Identify and drive billing process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools and Excel dashboards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with data query/data management tools extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)

Perform the following functions as individual assignments or as part of a team:

  • Devise new approaches, apply existing criteria in new manners and draw conclusions from comparative situations
  • Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter and techniques used
  • Working with ERP billing systems and understanding data flows across systems
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organisation objectives
  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, environment, safety, duty of care, and the quality management system
  • Display behaviours that reflect the Company values

Qualifications/Experience/Skills


Qualifications

At least a Bachelors degree in Finance and or equivalent experience/combined education, with substantial relevant professional experience and specialised training that is commensurate with the assignment.

Relevant certifications or Professional membership would be desirable.


Experience and Skills

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also have:

  • Substantial professional experience working in a role within a project Finance environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • Strong financial reconciliatioon skills and problem solving skills
  • High proficiency in working with ERP systems
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Strong individual contributor and team player in a professional environment
  • Highly effective in managing multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Good initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures
  • Ability to independently develop and determine approaches to solutions in a practical and creative manner
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and interpretive skills with high level of attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders
