Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) is one of Australia’s leading health and beauty companies.  API’s Pharmacy business provides wholesale distribution, business, and marketing services to community pharmacies across Australia.  The Retail business is one of Australia’s leading health and beauty market retailers through its retail brand Priceline.  The Consumer business is a niche player in over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and is based in New Zealand.

API is looking for a qualified and experienced Treasury Accountant to join our Finance Team at our Head Office in Camberwell. Reporting to the Treasurer, the Treasury Accountant supports the achievement of API’s Vision by performing daily cash forecasting and Receivables debt facility management. In addition, this role will complete reporting, perform process and analytical tasks and manage projects as directed by the Treasurer.

Key accountabilities (including but not limited to):

• Regular involvement with the daily management and forecasting of cash and other Treasury tasks
• Ensure compliance with business reporting and policy requirements and prepare reports
• Ensure all work practices meet company standards, relevant compliance obligations and relevant laws
• Assist the Treasurer to work with the business to develop accurate cash forecasting
• Preparation of Securitisation Debt facility reporting to the financier and preparation of quarterly compliance returns
• Prepare monthly Treasury journals and reporting tables
• Responsible for Treasury budgeting and strategic planning
• Responsible for recommending and executing foreign currency and interest rate hedging management
• Responsible for managing corporate credit card program
• Responsible for Treasury monthly reporting covering liquidity, daily cash flow, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging
• Assist the Treasurer with continuous improvement of policies, procedures and strategies to ensure compliance with legislation

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills/attributes:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance and preferably some experience with Insurance or Treasury
• Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy
• Understanding and exposure to accounting in a top ASX 200 company
• Good organisational and project management skills
• Strong Financial Modelling experience
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills
• Confident individual and strong analysis skills required to provide meaningful analysis and commentary to executives within the business
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to see the big picture and articulate key financial risks
• Ability to build and foster strong business relationships
• Advanced Computer literacy including advanced Microsoft Excel (V Lookups, Pivot tables, proficiency with formulas)

Qualifications:

• Degree qualifications in commerce, economics, or accounting
• Additional tertiary qualifications such as a Masters of Finance, CFA, CA or professional accounting body membership would be well regarded
