The Firm
This 5 partner firm, located on the outskirts of Brisbane CBD, has a strong staff base. Although only consisting of 42 employees, this firm is similar to a 2nd Tier firm. Amongst the forefront of accounting firms, this practice has a team of staff in the Philippines, allowing Brisbane employees to spend more time communicating with clients and focusing on Business Advisory. The firm has a wide client base, from building and construction, to a minor specialisation in Primary Production, and everything in between.
The Role
As a Business Services Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic advice, innovative solutions and service excellence to small to medium enterprises
- Ensuring that all aspects of the team are running smoothly
- Providing support to develop capability among team members, including delegating and reviewing their work
- Providing business advisory and accounting advice to a sustainable and profitable portfolio of clients
- Producing compliance documents, special purpose financial statements and monthly management reports
- Preparation of Income Tax Returns & Financial Statements for all entity types
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
The Individual
You will be business development focused and want to eventually progress to become a partner of the firm.
You will also possess the following:
- Accounting degree or related degree with a major in accounting
- CA or CPA qualification
- Previous experience in MYOB AE & Xero
- 6+ years’ of relevant experience in public practice
- Excellent stakeholder management and organisation skills
- Strong communication, proactive and deadline-focused
- Strong background in Business Development
