The Payroll & Transaction Services role is responsible for:
1. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Banking

Ensure all accounts are paid by due date and within the Kindergarten financial year (proactive in seeking invoices to be paid)
- Fees / debt collection – report any potential bad debt and discuss payment plans with CFO
- Oversight and facilitation of Banking, term deposits, bank reconciliations and petty cash.
- Cheque and payment deposits
- Appropriate correspondence and filing as required
- Effective use of accounting software (currently Xero) and other program.
2. Payroll/HR Support
- Process fortnightly payroll via ADP
- Maintain accurate payroll records for all employees
- Maintain regular communication with peak bodies to ensure understanding and implementation of the VECTEA Award
- Ensure employees are paid according to most up to date contracts, entitlements and award conditions
- Communicate with staff in a professional and timely manner.
3. Reporting/Compliance
- Liaise with and provide reports to GEKA services
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements eg BAS, superannuation, insurances etc.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain payroll system and accurately process fortnightly payroll
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an accurate financial database programs to produce current, accurate and relevant information
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritize effectively to meet timelines
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively, to meet timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills
- Current Working With Children check
