About your new role
We are seeking a high performing, motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in the Brisbane Head Office. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of duties including the management, mentoring and development of staff, financial control and operation of properties across Australia and New Zealand and various corporate accounting responsibilities such as GST, tax and board reporting.
This role comes with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and the candidate will need to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service.

Reporting to the General Manager - Finance this role will be responsible for:
- Management, development and training of staff including the ownership of the training program for the wider Finance team
- Full financial control of properties across Australia and New Zealand, building working relationships with Property Managers and Building Owners
- Preparation of accounts for corporate head office including consolidation, board pack reporting and identification of key risks
- Ownership of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts, annual audited statutory accounts and be the key audit liaison
- Various corporate accounting responsibilities such as GST, FBT, tax, debtors management, cash flow forecasting, creditor management
- Involvement in key business automation projects
- Developing and maintaining close working relationships with senior management and Executives
What you'll need to succeed
- CA or CPA qualified with demonstrated post-qualification experience
- Chartered background with demonstrated experience in a commercial accounting environment. Alternatively, a candidate with strong commercial accounting experience may also apply.
- Experience must be evident in the following areas (essential):
- Multi-national experience – preparation of accounts for multiple companies/branches throughout Australia and NZ
- Strong variance analysis and analytical skills
- Staff management and training
- Preparation of BAS, GST and FBT returns
- Process or system improvements
- Microsoft Excel skills to include all formulas
- Knowledge of the New Zealand GST and Tax systems is highly advantageous
- Property management experience desirable
- Experience in Sun Systems is desirable
- Ability to provide evidence of a National Police Check
