Reporting to the Finance Manager – Supply Chain, this role will partner with our Supply Chain function and Trading business to support commercial decision making and financial optimisation. You will provide valuable insight to help drive sustained cost reduction and commercial and financial support in order to achieve performance targets and minimise financial risk.

The primary areas of responsibility will span across:

  • Providing in-depth financial analysis to support key Supply Chain activities including demand forecasting, production planning, labour management, inventory management and procurement activities.
  • Providing accurate and timely financial reporting on the ANZ Trading business to stakeholders through effective month-end processes, accurate balance sheet reconciliations and the provision of quality financial accounts.
  • Prepare costing for imported products including detailed assessment of freight and import costs
  • Identifying key drivers of cost and opportunities for working capital reduction and business improvement across the supply chain and trading business operations.
  • Analysis of freight and warehousing expenditure with a focus on identification of cost saving opportunities and implementation of robust controls.
  • Supporting business improvement initiatives by providing commercial thought leadership and ensuring that benefit realisation is accurately reported and communicated.
  • Effective implementation and follow through of Amcor internal control policies and procedures including conducting of annual Control Self Assessments
  • Project support for key Supply Chain initiatives

The ideal candidate will have strong relationship building skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to identify and explore improvements to work and systems and have excellent attention to detail.

The experience and skill required for the role:

  • Finance background with 2-3 years' minimum (exposure to manufacturing environments preferred)
  • Strong commercial, critical and strategic thinking with prior experience of standard costing
  • Excellent communications skills, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • A proactive mindset and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Comfortable operating within a changing environment, new systems and processes
  • An accounting post graduate qualification (CA,CPA) preferred or we will offer professional development support through your CA/CPA program studies
  • A varied finance background covering financial control, financial reporting, planning & analysis and business partnering
  • Finance experience in a logistics environment desirable but not essential
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
