About this opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join a global company. Reporting into the Financial Controller, the role offers the ability to gain broad accounting experience and provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
• Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation, analysis, and reporting
• Assistance with any AR or AP work
• Revenue and Billing Loads including reviews
• Cashflows & Bank accounts - daily transaction record, reconciliations and investigations
• Preparation and posting of monthly general ledger journals as directed
• Monthly Commissions file, reviews and reconciliations as directed
• Assisting in any directed monthly payroll and/or bonus calculations
• Liaising with local departments and business units - reporting
• Handling of any related Intercompany transactions
• Fixed Assets responsibility including reconciliations
• Prepayments & Property Manager reconciliation and maintenance
• Support and handling of work cover insurance and payroll reconciliation including payroll tax.
• Support in any audit and/or tax compliance.
• Assistance with any US head Office requests
• Assist with monthly close process
• Assist in any other ad hoc tasks or projects that may arise
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Min 2 years’ experience in a Junior/Assistant Accountant role in Australia
• Minimum Degree Qualified
• Proficient Excel Skills - Must have strong Formula skills on Vlookup's & Sumif's, including Pivot Tabling
• Experience with a Medium to Large Enterprise
• Solid reconciliation skills
Preferred but not essential
• Experience with any large ERP Systems preferred but not essential- We use Oracle
• Excel skills at a level for running basic Macro's.
• Experience working with HR/Payroll data including calculations, reconciliations and basic modelling.
