Over the last few years we have played a critical role in helping our clients successfully undertake some of Australia’s leading M&A and Capital Market transactions.
Following sustained strong growth which has led to a number of promotions and international mobility transfers in our Brisbane office, we have opportunities for Senior Analysts and Managers to fast track their career with Deloitte.
Examples of our Work
- Private Equity - Healthcare: We assisted a global consortium group acquire one of Australia’s largest dedicated cancer care providers (with operations throughout Australasia) for a reported headline value exceeding $1bn. We performed analysis of maintainable run-rate earnings, underlying organic versus inorganic growth, recent trends in revenue and costs and assistance with the accounting aspects of the SPA.
- Private Equity - Industrials: We assisted one of Deloitte’s largest global clients acquire one of Australia’s largest producers and suppliers of industrial chemicals. A multi-disciplinary Deloitte M&A team advised on all aspects of the transaction, including financial and tax support services (including diligence and structuring), review of pension liabilities, advice on cost improvement initiatives and IT diligence and advisory services.
About the Opportunity
Our Brisbane based team regularly draws on the capabilities of our colleagues in other parts of Corporate Finance and from across the firm to deliver multi-disciplinary insights to our clients, supporting them throughout the transaction lifecycle.
As a Senior Analyst you will;
- Develop a deep understanding of the target business and its drivers
- Analyse information memoranda, business plans, publicly available information
- Review historical trading, quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, net debt, capital expenditure, forecasts and underlying assumptions
- Report of potential key issues for our clients including identification of risk or price factors impacting investment decisions
- Review of sale and purchase agreements and financial model
- Present findings and observations to the engagement managers
As a Manager you will;
- Drive the delivery of engagements and help your clients execute complex transactions through pre-acquisition analysis, financial due diligence and forecast reviews
- Build your negotiating and influencing skills
- Mentor and coach a team
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for senior management and boards
- Participate in business development and relationship building programs
- Help manage the practice including arranging training and coordinating resourcing
Your clients will include leading Australian private and listed corporates, global enterprises, private equity firms and Government.
About You
Highly motivated and talented performer, looking to move to one of the leading Transaction Services practices and with a focus on collaboration, your skills and experience will include:
- Solid experience in performing financial due diligence assignments in a transaction environment or similar complex financial assignments; or business combination experience gained through the audit of acquisitive businesses
- Strong familiarity with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
- Structured thinker with analytical and financial skills to work on complex financial transactions
- Undergraduate degree in finance and/or accounting
- Post graduate qualification e.g. CA, CFA, Masters in Applied Finance or MBA
