We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper that is as passionate about bookkeeping as we are about furniture!

We are an online/showroom furniture retailer based in Rowville selling a range of stunning natural timber furniture collections. We are an ambitious team of 5 and looking to grow. This role will suit someone who likes variety in their day. We need someone with a high attention to detail with a friendly assertive character to manage our accounts and payroll end to end.

You will be managing our bookkeeping and payroll end to end (1-2 days per week) and will have an understanding of the micro efficiencies that are essential to running a successful small business. The person we are looking for will take pride in having a sense of order (everything in its place) working with our existing systems and process and updating as required. Friendly and assertive with the number one priority to get the business done efficiently as possible. This is a genuine opportunity to get in with a great little business and own your niche.

The person you will be replacing is semi retired and lives locally. For the last 5 years she has been an asset to the business with her solid bookkeeping knowledge, reliability and flexibility in helping out across different areas of the business as required. With the right training we are looking forward to finding a new member of the Living Elements family!

The role advertised is a bookkeeping role however being a small growing business we are always looking for good help in other areas of the business so there is room to grow and expand. It is not a requirement to want to expand into these areas but if you like the idea of being a flexible all rounder the opportunity is available for the right person down the track.

Essential Skills

• Positive
• 5+ years bookkeeping and payroll experience a must
• Advanced skills with MYOB
• Advanced skills with MS Office applications
• Inventory experience
• Friendly and assertive when occasion calls for action
• There is no debt collection in this role but we do need a friendly bossy boots to keep our suppliers accountable.
• Excellent phone manner

Responsibilities

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable including bill entry through to batch payment
• Supplier statement reconciliation
• Bank reconciliations including entry and reconciliation of takings clearing account activity
• Payroll
• Monthly and ad-hoc reporting
• General office admin
• Preparation of accounts to trial balance for accountant
• Special projects as required from the store manager

• CRM system/set up knowledge
