An opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Accountant to join a firm that has been a cornerstone of the Macarthur community for the past 35 years. Our firm boasts a large and diverse client base, with many recognisable clients in the area. You will be joining a friendly and collaborative team and gain experience in a range of complex accounting and taxation work. This is an exciting career opportunity for a motivated accountant with 2 to 3 years’ experience in professional practice. You should have a passion for taxation and business services and are looking to take your career to the next level with a hands on, client facing role, in a firm that has an understanding work-life balance environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax for various entities, with an emphasis on companies and multi-entity business models;
• Completion of BAS, IAS and FBT returns
• Checking financial statements and management accounts to identify any accounting issues;
• Researching income tax matters and providing advice on them;
• Applying basic and advanced tax compliance procedures;
• Working closely with Senior Accountants and Partners;
• Building strong internal and external relationships.

To Be Successful you will need to demonstrate:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within professional practice
• Business or Commerce degree, major in Accounting
• Recently completed the CA/CPA qualification, or currently completing
• Be proficient in MYOB and/or Xero accounting software
• Knowledge MYOB AE is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills and time management
• Commitment to continuing professional development
