An exciting opportunity has become available for a strategic and proactive Corporate Development Analyst to join our Finance team in Perth, reporting to the Manager Corporate Development & Planning. 

Using your strategic thinking, strong financial modelling and interpersonal skills, you will provide support in business case preparation, advanced and complex project and acquisition valuation modelling, and deliver timely analysis to support stakeholders in planning and decision-making for growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop customer life cycle economic models with consideration for cost effective options as well as preparing indicative proposals and customer negotiations to obtain an exclusive customer position
  • Support the assessment and evaluation of proposals and support the completion of preliminary assessments and feasibility studies to secure new business opportunities.
  • Lead research activities which will include maintaining an understanding of energy markets, developments, opportunities and competitor’s analysis.
  • Develop advanced financial modeling, financial statement analysis, decision modeling, reporting and analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Involvement in business case development, internal gatekeeper process, acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Support annual business planning and long range forecasting cycles.

The successful candidate will:

  • Preferably be a Chartered Accountant/Chartered Management Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst.
  • Have strong experience in a similar role preferably in Corporate Development or Mergers and Acquisition capacity
  • Have experience in energy related companies (electricity, oil and gas or utilities) or consulting in these industries will be highly regarded
  • Have extensive financial modeling experience and in-depth understanding of finance/valuation concepts and financial statements
  • Be a self-starter who can take charge of complex tasks with minimal direction and develop new strategies, best practice and ways of approaching business challenges independently
  • Be a reliable communicator, sensitive to timing and able to manage stakeholder engagement
  • Stay current with external trends or factors that impact the organisation, and provides recommendations
