Let’s talk about the JOB

Reporting to a Senior Corporate Accountant, your role will focus on ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of financial reporting to assist stakeholders in their decision making. This will be done in compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation and prudential requirements… all with a smile on your face!

With your background and exposure to fixed assets and financial instruments, you will partake in all facets of statutory and financial reporting. This includes, the preparation of statutory financial statements, analysing changes to the Accounting Standards, preparing monthly management reports and performing balance sheet reconciliations.

You will also utilise your strong stakeholder management skills to work with other internal business units such as Legal, and Accounts Payable, to facilitate correct accounting practices being used in day to day business processes.

The role also has a focus on taxation, and regulatory reporting including preparation and analysis of ME’s BAS, IAS, and FBT returns, and maintaining our fixed assets register in compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax legislation. You will also take your understanding of APRA reporting requirements to support preparation and lodgement of a variety of reports as per the required timelines.

With a CA/CPA qualification (or close to completion), a strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and experience within Financial Services, you’re an experienced professional whose corporate accounting knowledge is second to none!

You’ll have the ability to work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment and will use your well-honed communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to advise and influence at a senior level. You will bring your awareness of changes in the legislative, reporting and compliance environment, to ensure ME as an organisation has the capability to adapt to these changes.
