This large, Australian Icon, is currently looking to expand their payroll and HR operations centre with a new hire in 2018, the team is run by an experienced and qualified payroll manager who is committed to their staff’s development.

The company is acknowledged as one of the premier payroll departments in Melbourne and the manager is acknowledged as one of the best in the Melbourne area at giving their staff the chance to develop and learn new roles.

This position is 50% managing the HR Master Data within SAP that is used for payroll and 50% end to end payroll administration for a portfolio across the whole of Australia. Working in a team of 8, there is plenty of support and help available when it comes to the industry specific EBAs and the changes that need to occur in SAP.

You will be:

  • In Charge of your own section of HR Master Data and administration of this data in the system.
  • Making any compensation related changes to this data and ensuring that the changes are in line with business, tax and legislative requirements.
  • Processing end to end payroll of 400 monthly and 200 fortnightly as well as around 100 casual staff.
  • Working to 5 complex enterprise agreements and working with the rest of the team to ensure that they are reflected in the newly implemented SAP system.

In a bit more detail that means this:

Daily Tasks - Ensuring that all master data for employees is input correctly into SAP and making changes to this data, reflecting remuneration changes in the system, adding starters and finishers and handling some queries around pay.

Weekly - Checking and running one or two payrolls (depending on the time of the month with your weekly, monthly and fortnightly pay runs) with the team. Helping put changes to tax and legislation in to SAP, making any changes to organisation structures and ensuring all security checks are up to date.

Monthly - Running the monthly payroll, helping to reconcile the accounts to the general ledger. Engaging in process improvement and project meetings.

One other thing…

The payroll manager is very keen on people ‘owning’ their roles and developing personally, this means that you will have the opportunity if you wish to work on projects that would usually not be available to the payroll team in other organisations.

  • Decent Excel skills (or willing to undergo Excel Training)
  • A customer focused approach.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • A keen eye for spotting mistakes and the ability to correct them.
  • Calmness under pressure.

What will you get in return?

  • A great, reputable organisation that will help you train and develop for the future of payroll.
  • Some unique benefits that will blow you away and could change your lifestyle.
