About the opportunity
Experienced Financial Accountant to work full time in the Bundaberg office to run the accounting and financial activities of Rechenberg and associated entities. To supervise and provide leadership to the existing Administration team and provide financial reporting to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting decisions by maintaining KPI on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.
Specific duties include:
- Balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Preparation of financial statements
- Planning and preparation of the yearly budget and to create the monthly budget estimates and KPI reports.
- Ensuring company compliance and reporting, including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax & Super
- Managing transfers, payments, cash flow and coordinating department stocktake.
- Conducting internal audits, assisting and supervising payroll functions.
- Lead and develop Administration team members and managing performance to ensure highest levels of productivity and efficiency in line with best practices.
- Provide backup and overflow support for Administration team members when required.
Skills & requirements
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Business, post graduate qualification as CA, CPA or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience post qualification in a financial or managerial accounting position with staff responsibility
- Experience using various accounting software and producing reports
- Advanced skills in Windows desktop software, including Microsoft Excel, with skills in SQL reporting an advantage
- Advanced skills in written and verbal communication
- Skills that relate to motivating, leading and coaching others to provide great customer service
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines for others
- Demonstrated comprehension of the tasks undertaken in financial accounting for a company
