About the role

This diverse and rewarding role provides strategic and operational leadership in the management of the ADF's finances and business operations. This role is responsible for budgetary planning, reporting on financial status and organisational sustainability, ensuring that all financial management, statutory planning and financial compliance systems are adhered to.

This role will also be responsible for ensuring that the necessary financial infrastructure is in place to support current and future operations, projects and broader community activities of the ADF.

You will:

• Provide financial leadership, oversight and management across the organisation
• Day to day management of the Finance team, including setting objectives, reviewing performance and developing staff
• Ensure the activities and functions of the Finance unit reflect the ADF's Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Plan.
• Management of the annual budgeting process to completion in consultation with the COO and all budget managers.
• Oversight and responsibility for payroll, debtors and creditors functions, ensuring an accurate and efficient operational function.
• Lead the business planning process to facilitate the delivery of the organisation business plan
• Oversee Corporate Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure all statutory obligations and compliance matters are observed and that corporate governance is adopted across the ADF.

About you

As the successful candidate, you must live our values and have demonstrable experience in a finance leadership role.

You will have successfully led financial management and corporate governance and compliance. You will have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will also have:

• Demonstrated experience of a minimum of seven years' experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Management Account role, with responsibility for reporting analysis and team management
• Demonstrated high level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
• Excellent numerical analysis skills and proven ability to interpret data for strategic reporting
• Proven experience in managing self and others in an environment of change
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical and judgement skills with a commitment to quality at all times.

The successful candidate for this role must be willing to undergo a Working with Children and Police check.
