opr is a leading public relations agency and we are on the look out for a Management Accountant to work in our Finance team supporting a number of our companies within a fast paced environment.

This role will allow you to adopt leadership and managerial responsibilities which will therefore appoint you as being the first point of contact for the Managing Director and senior employees of a business unit. You will facilitate solutions to their day to day queries, as well as being instrumental in supporting the business as they implement operational changes. You will report to the Senior Commercial Manager for that business unit and you will also be able to deliver analysis and reporting to the Finance Director at times.

You will be joining a high performing and established finance team who will support you to achieve both personal and team goals.

This role sits specifically within our opr central team. With 20 people based in Sydney who work in Finance, HR, Marketing and Management and the team supports all opr businesses in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience and obtain the skills to learn quickly. The skills and attributes we are looking for are: an eagerness to learn, organised and logical, calm under pressure, technically proficient, have good attention to detail and be able to work with and for all levels of people.

 

Here’s the expertise you have, that we’ll build on: 

  • Relevant business qualification(s) and/or at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualifications in Chartered Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant 
  • Proficiency with BCC or similar finance system, Word and Excel
  • Good attention to detail, strong capabilities in terms of prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with employees and key stakeholders
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Display a good level judgement and decision-making ability
  • Intermediate skills and knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Skills in payroll, client reporting and revenue recognition
  • Obtain the ability to conduct quarterly forecasting/annual budgeting processes and provide oversight, review and recommendations on the business unit’s operations.
