PointsBet is currently focused on its most rapid phase of growth to date. We are looking for a highly motivated Chartered Accountant to join a high performing finance team as a Senior Accountant to support the Head of Finance - AU across all areas of finance. This role has a strong reporting focus initially, however will encompass financial accounting, financial planning, corporate & gaming compliance, finance operations, internal and external audit.

Core Responsibilities
Financial Management and Control
- Ensure accuracy & timely maintenance of the general ledger.
- Oversee shared services function for Accounts Payable, Payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage month end close process for affiliate and BDM commissions, OPEX and employee costs.
- Adhoc finance support for the wider business
- First level P&L review for month end reporting.
Treasury Management
- Management of payment systems, including payment gateway systems and EFT
- Fraud reporting and management of chargebacks
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and quarterly re-forecast processes where required.
Corporate & Gaming Compliance
- Prepare Monthly & Yearly Racing, Sports, and Government body lodgments
- Assist with preparation of GST, FBT, ITR, and R&D Corporate Lodgments
- Assist with Corporate & Compliance Information Requests as required such as regulators, sports bodies, and racing bodies.
Finance Projects & Technology
- Develop automated financial reporting by working closely with the business intelligence team.
- Maintain a keen focus to automation finance processes via technology and simplification.
Prerequisite Skills
- Chartered Accountant with 1-3 year post qualified experience minimum. Big 4 background preferred.
- A great team attitude, having clearly shown initiative in prior roles to achieve exceptional results.
- Demonstrable experience with Corporate Compliance & Consolidated Financial Reporting
- Exposure to Xero and PowerBI
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience in the wagering/gambling or start-up fast paced industry is advantageous but not essential
