As Financial Controller you will report directly to the CFO and lead the financial accounting, payroll and transactional services teams. 

You will play a critical role in driving transformational change of the finance function at GV Health. You will ensure financial control and integrity and deliver on financial reporting requirements. You will also be responsible for driving process improvement and operational performance by challenging the status quo and identifying and executing on opportunities for greater efficiency and quality of management information, financial processes and maintaining a high performance culture.

 

Duties

  • Deliver high quality, timely and reliable financial control, analysis and reporting.
  • Lead and manage the financial accounting, payroll and transactional services teams - a team of over 25 people.
  • Work to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to minimise risk, eliminate fraud and ensure financial transactions occur within specified delegations.
  • Prepare recommendation papers for the Executive and Board.
  • Support the CFO with the monthly Finance Committee and bi-monthly Audit and Risk Committee meetings.
  • Ensure internal financial management reporting and accounting advice is of high quality, accurate and delivered within the required timeframes.
  • Ensure external financial reporting is of high quality, accurate and delivered within the required timeframes.
  • Ensure financial returns lodged with statutory authorities are of high quality, accurate and submitted within the required timeframes.
  • Support the CFO as required.

Skills and Experience
You are a CA/CPA qualified finance professional with a strong track record at a senior leadership level of driving financial performance and ensuring strong controls and efficient processes. You are capable and ambitious, with the goal of becoming a CFO and the self-awareness of your key development areas to address to achieve it.
