Our client is a world’s largest manufacturer of their innovative and inspiring product range and has set the benchmark for others to envy. 

Reporting to the COO this role will be based in Canberra and requires a talented General Manager who is responsible for the successful management of all areas of the business including Service, Rentals and Sales. The key focus for this position is to drive business growth through the achievement of customer satisfaction and the development of strong customer relations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for securing business with new contacts throughout ACT as well as building key relationships with existing clients, You will also have full financial accountability for the business unit including P&L. This role requires an experienced and talented General Manager who also has a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals.

To be considered you will demonstrate:
  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in Operations Management within a B2B environment. With expertise in both supply and operational strategy, you will have established a Continuous Improvement framework within a complex and dynamic business
  • A minimum 10 years prior experience as a Manager in business management in a capital equipment sales and service environment 
  • Developing financial plans, forecasts and monitor performance & results against forecast.
  • Monitor performance against budget and develop strategic plans.
  • Regularly review overheads to ensure cost is within budgeted allowance.
  • Conducting monthly management meetings to review monthly results, and develop strategies for coming months and future opportunities.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets.
  • New and existing Business Development including proactive sales activity such as attendance at field days and local events.
  • Managing the end to end sales process including compiling sales strategies, doing product demonstrations, answering customer enquiries and taking orders.
  • Maintain inventory levels & stock taking.
  • Develop Department Management & Supervisors, ensuring they have adequate coaching to achieve their performance targets.
  • Safety and risk management.
  • You will be proactive, highly organised and a strong communicator, demonstrating the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships.
  • A high level of business acumen is considered essential for this position, with a Tertiary qualification in business management or equivalent
