The Role:
As the General Manager Health Insurance, you will provide leadership within the Commercial Division of Compare the Market, ensuring the effective development and the compliant delivery of Health Insurance strategy. As a senior leader and part of the broader Executive Committee, you will play a key role in shaping direction for one of our key vertical lines of business.
 
This role will enable you to:

  • Draw on your subject matter expertise in Health Insurance to shape growth and transformation opportunities
  • Plan business strategies and objectives, and demonstrate execution to plan;
  • Lead commercially savvy and customer centric solutions to business challenges;
  • Provide and lead the strategic and commercial management of health insurance partners and suppliers, effectively building relationships and negotiating outcomes and commercial solutions
  • Influence delivery of technology enhancements, digital and customer experience platforms;
  • Identify strategic market opportunities, trends and gaps to lead the development and execution of measurable improvements;
  • Build constructive and professional relationships to engage and influence  across the organisation;
  • Actively drive a high performance and commercial culture in your team and across Compare the Market;
  • Engage and increase sales teams’ knowledge, ensuring awareness and understanding of all policies and the completion of mandatory training;
  • Influence and support strong quality standards and enhanced sales and conversion metrics;
  • Contribute your extensive leadership capabilities to develop and engage your team, inspire and reward innovation, high performance,  passion for our customers and our team, and Compare the Market values;
  • Develop and present quality proposals, business cases and Board and executive reporting
  • Consistently deliver on your budget and financial accountabilities
  • Live and breathe compliance and regulatory requirements in all activities

 
Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years leadership and management experience in a Senior Leadership or General Manager level role;
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in Health Insurance products is essential
  • Ability to develop strategy, and deliver transformational business and cultural change;
  • Proven experience maximising financial performance through contract and supplier negotiations, and managing operating expenditure and revenue; consistent with budget, delegation approvals and risk appetite;
  • A high level of Senior Leadership presence, self-awareness and personal effectiveness;
  • Formal qualifications in a relevant area (preferably postgraduate level – Masters);
  • Industry experience in the Banking, Finance & Insurance industry
