RPS has an exceptional opportunity for a General Manager to lead our team in Melbourne CBD. You will be responsible for leading a team of 23 highly dedicated and focused Project Directors and Managers on major projects in the building and property space.
We are seeking an experienced leader who thrives on a dynamic and fast paced environment, has a proven track record in exceptional business development and staff engagement and who equally supports quality assurance and operational processes. The successful candidate will be an expert at navigating clients and enjoy working closely with National General Managers and other General Managers around the country.
A diverse experience base in other sectors and experience in leading and delivering complex projects and programs in the built environment is also essential. The role requires a commercial focus and results driven approach balanced with strong organisational skills.
Key functions and responsibilities of this position include:
- Business development
- Client service delivery / project management
- Resource planning and financial management
- People management / leadership
- Employee engagement
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in the building and/or construction industry or related field;
- AIPM Certified Practising Project Director certification or equivalent;
- Strong background in management of professional services organisations;
- Experience in previously held senior management positions, with strong involvement and demonstrated capacity in business development, people and financial management;
- Lead and control resources, including employees, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure outstanding performance is achieved in respect of performance indicators including Program, Budget, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), quality and business strategy; and
- Demonstrated ability to manage business relationships including negotiation and successful resolution of contentious issues.
