We are seeking an experienced and motivated technical sales representative to join our rapidly expanding Queensland company providing welding machinery and industrial supplies based in the Mackay region.

This position is an external business development role with a strong emphasis on providing friendly and well-informed customer service in order to drive sales figures and market share across the product range. A detailed understanding of the product range will enable you to reap the benefit from your efforts by earning commissions when sales targets are reached.

Activities Involved

  • Maintain regular contact with customers by means of site visits, telephone and email communications
  • Identify customer needs and suggest appropriate product offerings
  • Demonstrate and promote welding products and processes
  • Extensive travel and overnight stays associated with the role
  • Achieve sales targets and KPI's

Skills Required

  • Proven track record with strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Background in welding, engineering or heavy fabrication
  • Exceptional communication skills including face-to-face interaction
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and provide a solution-based approach
  • Detailed knowledge of all types of machines & consumables in the welding industry and how they are used
  • Computer proficient with the ability to learn new systems and operating procedures
  • Drivers Licence
