About Us

Canterbury of New Zealand was established back in 1904 when John Lane, Pringle Walker and Alfred Rudkin began producing woollen garments deep in the Canterbury Province of New Zealand.  Before long, they were making uniforms for the army during the First World War, and they earned themselves a reputation for manufacturing tough, durable kit.  So much so, the legendary All Blacks rugby team approached them to produce rugby attire in which they could play. 

The rest as they say is history; Canterbury of New Zealand outfitted the All Blacks team for over 75 years and is now the largest dedicated rugby brand in the world.  Canterbury currently supplies kit to numerous high-profile national teams; England Rugby, Ireland Rugby, British & Irish Lions, Australian Rugby league as well as leading clubs such as NZ Vodafone Warriors, Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, NSW State of Origin, Leinster and Bath Rugby including a number of NPC sides.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our QLD Teamwear sales team based at our offices in Eight Mile Plains. 

Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager you will be responsible for securing new sales opportunities within QLD whilst developing strong internal and external relationships.

This role has an extensive list of responsibilities including but not limited to

  • Identify new business opportunities within the territory to drive the growth within the channels of Education and Sports Teamwear programmes to maximise return on investment.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Develop and nurture accounts to secure business and create ongoing sustainable relationships and revenue
  • Set annual revenue targets and KPI’s and achievement there of
  • Provide commercial focus to assist in decision-making and product range-building for the Sport & Education Teamwear channels.
  • Leverage the full spectrum of our marketing assets to drive growth with current and new accounts. 

About You

You will be a sales professional with minimum 3 years’ experience able to bring new ideas as well as working within current systems and processes and have a proven track record in branded consumer goods.

Naturally you will be a strong communicator and network able to develop and maintain relationships at all levels internally and externally.
