Weir Minerals Australia LTD, a member of the Weir Group PLC, is the market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of slurry pumps and allied minerals processing equipment to the mining industry, both within Australia and throughout the world.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated Technical Sales Engineer to provide aftermarket support to our customers in the South West region by adding value to our customers’ operations. This includes providing regular assistance on site, technical problem solving, optimising equipment, processing and material selections and the promotion of the range of products within the Weir portfolio.

Reporting to the Sales Manager – South West region, you will be based in Henderson or Kewdale. Regular travel will be required. 

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Protecting and expanding the spare parts market share for the complete Weir Product Range
• Implementing and reporting on product trials aimed at reducing customer TOC’s
• Identifying and promoting new opportunities to profitably grow our business in the region
• Providing technical and service support to our customers
• Increasing overall customer satisfaction with Weir Minerals
• Achieving and maintaining a high degree of regular contact with key personnel to add value to their business and position Weir Minerals as a valued partner
• Supporting Weir Minerals Product Specialists through joint sales activities
• Creating a relationship with the customer through face-to-face contact, fostering trust, reliability, and strength through knowledge of the Weir Group products and services
• Analysing and determining the most crucial needs of key customers, and engaging all necessary WMA Product Manager’s and Service Specialists to provide outstanding customer service levels
• Aftermarket support for all Weir equipment to ensure strong spare parts and service business performance

The successful candidate will:

• Possess drive to achieve and extend their technical sales career
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to build excellent relationships with stakeholders of all levels on customer sites
• Hold an engineering diploma or degree, or relevant technical knowledge of mineral processing equipment
• Have fixed plant operation and/or maintenance experience within the mineral processing industry
• Hold a high level of integrity and a strong and adaptable customer focus
• Have a desire to work in a customer support role in a technical and marketing environment
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence.
