About us:
Master Builders Victoria is a vibrant and growing employer organisation, offering a wide variety of services to the Victorian building and construction industry.

We pride ourselves on our excellent brand credentials and our more than 143 year history. We have built a one stop shop to support the industry and are passionate about getting the best for our members.

The role:
Great opportunity to kick-start your career! Internal promotion has resulted in a position becoming available on our Sponsorship and Alliance team.  Master Builders is seeking a confident, collaborative, driven lead generator and relationship retention specialist to join our successful team.  The role will suit someone with an element of sales and relationship management experience that has passion and drive.

This is an opportunity to truly refine your relationship based sales skills, with the role focussing on two of our most important areas; securing sponsorship leads and maintaining sponsor retention via transparent reporting and active relationship management.   You will be a person who likes to achieve goals and be hands on; prospecting, identifying and qualifying business leads from start to finish, building and reinforcing relationships, and developing networks with key decision makers.

Reporting to the Sponsorship and Alliance Manager, this role is imperative to the success of the team. You will have the opportunity to learn and create a genuine impact.

Responsibilities and duties:
Lead generation:
  • Research, identify, and generate sponsorship and alliance leads
  • Assist to build and develop sponsorship development pipeline
  • Connect with key decision makers in different industries, with the ability to confidently communicate the significant value of partnering with us
  • Secure appointments for the Sponsorship and Alliance Manager
Sponsorship presentations and reports:
  • Tailor sponsorship design templates to create personalised presentations, sales resources and reports
  • Engage stakeholders whilst delivering introductory presentations to potential sponsors
Sponsorship retention:
  • Design, create and deliver post-event sponsor reports
  • Assist to retain and grow mutually beneficial relationships with existing sponsors and alliance partners
Sponsorship administration:
  • Create, maintain and manage sponsorship files
  • Record content for post delivery reports for sponsors
  • Weekly reporting and analysis of sponsorship lead generation
  • Ensure that sponsors are invoiced in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Assist the Sponsorship and Alliance Manager, as directed
  • Foster and reinforce strong internal and external relationships. This requires attendance at key functions, including black tie events, as required

Skills and experience:
The ideal candidate will possess strategic planning, presentation, financial acumen and sales skills. Along with demonstrated experience in a sponsorship or sales lead generation role, you will also have excellent written and oral communication and an exceptional customer service orientation.  Strong Microsoft Office skills and a passion for sponsorship are a pre-requisite.  Adobe suite skills and relevant university qualifications are a plus.

This role comes with tools of the trade including laptop, phone and iPad.

Culture and benefits:
Master Builders provides a productive, supportive team environment in which employees can learn and feel that they are contributing and appreciated. There are many opportunities to show initiative and develop your own learning.
