ABB Australia currently has an opportunity for a Sales and Bid Specialist to join our electrification products team, specializing in rail projects nationally.
Tasks:
Directly reporting to the Execution Manager (EM) and Functionally reporting to Product Marketing Director (PMD), your key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the tender offering including compilation of technical and commercial proposal documents for Rail projects, ensuring competitiveness
• Oversee the validation of terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, pricing) in each offer.
• Understand internal project management and project engineering activities to estimate cost
• Define the most suitable technology to be used based on application characteristics and ABB MV Rail products / switchgear portfolio
• Support the Sales team in negotiations with customer on technical, contractual and commercial content of the proposal
Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, it is expected you will have a strong technical knowledge of railway systems and equipment as well as the proven capability to functionally lead a team of product tendering engineers. You will possess excellent communication skills and assertive business acumen, which will allow you to collaborate with broader ABB business at a senior level.
Other key requirements include:
• Tertiary or degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) / commercial qualification or recognized equivalent
• Good understanding of Rail segment market & customer drivers
• Deep knowledge and understanding to the electrical engineering industry, design, installation & commissioning of rail electrification equipment/projects.
• Estimating and tendering experience (SAP & MS Excel based system)
• Computer literacy and competent in using SAP (preferable), MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project are essential
