The opportunity: National Account Manager - Grocery

The National Account Manager for Grocery will be responsible for the achievement of sales, distribution and market share growth across the grocery portfolio of accounts. You will be instrumental in developing the channel strategy and partnering with accounts to implement joint business and marketing plans in line with the brand and strategic direction of Evolution Health. Developing and maintaining strong relationships you will maximise the potential of the accounts with your strategic management of ranging, NPD, promotional initiatives combined with your sales experience and category expertise. Working cross functionally you will liaise between sales, marketing and operations providing market updates, competitor insights and forecasting accurately to meet demand and maximise sales.Travel will be required to perform your role for account visits, conferences and industry expos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with key accounts to achieve growth of sales, distribution and market share
  • Achieve and exceed KPI’s of sales, market share, distribution, volume and profitability of accounts
  • Partner with marketing to develop joint sales and marketing plans in line with brand and channel strategy
  • Implement and monitor joint sales and marketing plans to ensure effective execution and alignment of negotiated business objectives
  • Negotiate, implement and monitor trading terms
  • Regular face to face appointments to mutually discuss account sales performance, sales and promotional activity, providing an informative business update including data analysis (Nielsen / Aztec), category insights and recommendations for sales maximisation
  • Monitor sales performance weekly / monthly / quarterly providing business updates, data analysis, insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Manage the profitability of accounts by understanding COGS and managing profits, rebates, cooperative funds and ensure return on investment is within agreed business objectives
  • Monitor effectiveness of business and marketing plans providing updates and insights to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with operations / demand planning to accurately forecast sales including uplift for promotional activity
  • Conduct business and range reviews within agreed timelines
  • Develop a thorough understanding of key account including needs, requirements and their strategic plans for growth in the category
  • Skills and Experience needed:
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • 3+yrs experience KAM/NAM
  • 3+yrs experience within FMCG
  • Grocery channel experience preferable
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data (Aztec/ Nielsen) and understanding of P&L’s
  • Strong commercial acumen & High-level negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
