We are looking for a Business Development Executive who has experience in the Event Production industry. The role will focus on providing bespoke AV solutions to ASX listed businesses, Marketing Agencies and Entertainment Venues across Australia.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of AV technology with a passion for sales and business development.

About The Role

The Business Development function is a new function for this business therefore to succeed in this role, you will need to be willing to hit the ground running and bring a hunger and drive to strategically hunt for new business opportunities.

Focusing on corporate, associations, franchise, government and PCOs/ meeting planners, you will contribute to the growth of this new venture.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end customer experience. As a result, managing the clients’ expectations and sales negotiations are critical to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Research, Identify and target prospects to get a holistic understanding of their event needs
  • Actively engage in the broad research channels and methods such as media house, internet research, LinkedIn and personal contact
  • Ensure the Project Management Team is aware of forthcoming events with the appropriate lead time
  • Review all identified opportunities with the Commercial Director and rollout execution strategies
  • Represent the company at industry networking and trade events
  • Complete week activity reports and showing forecasted client touchpoint activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry associations
  • Create sales pipelines for each client, showing frequent touch-points activities to support commercial growth

About The Candidate

  • Previous experience within a sales or business development environment in the event industry.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to deliver against targets/ KPIs.
  • Intermediate IT skills - Microsoft office, Excel.
  • Experience of using Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to think strategically and to convey ideas effectively to others.
  • Ability to priorities and manage demanding workloads.
  • Confident and able to convey information in a clear manner.
  • Experience in delivering credential pitches to prospective and existing clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sales and business development process.
  • Self-starter with the ability to deliver against targets/ KPIs.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to think strategically.
  • Analytical and methodical approach to work.
  • Financial awareness and business acumen.
