About the role

We are looking for a high-performing Sales Manager to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximising our sales team’s potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those to plans to management. This is not just a management role – you’ll be required to be in on the larger deals, actively driving them and being on the road multiple days of the week.

 

Your role is to help manage the team and sales process for FoodByUs’ offering to cafes, restaurants and other foodservice businesses. This will be achieved by targeting groups of customers, assessing their supply needs and concurrently getting the right supplier mix and ultimately guiding the team to meet with venues to get them ordering food through the platform.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that defines specific customer groups and expands company’s customer base
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  • Set objectives, coaching and performance monitoring of the sales team
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

 

Skills & Requirements

Experience within the food industry is not required - although it certainly can help. Most important is that you understand how to define a segment of customers --> appropriately value the segment opportunity --> understand their pain point and how they currently source their food --> define a sales plan --> break the sales plan down and guide the FoodByUs team --> measure and achieve results.

This role is perfect for a dynamic sales professional looking for the next step in their career. To succeed in this role (and more importantly to enjoy it!) you'll need the following attributes:

 

  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Prior Sales experience working with the SME or B2C market 
  • Cold calling, lead generation and negotiation experience 
  • Enthusiastic, bubbly and friendly
  • Clear and an open communicator
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, commerce or a related field viewed favourably, although not essential as the right experience is most important
