API is looking for a qualified and experienced Injury Management Coordinator - Work Related and Personal Injuries to join the Safety, Health & Wellbeing at our Head Office in Camberwell. Reporting to the National Safety, Health & Wellbeing Manager, your role will be accountable for providing strategic guidance and expertise to business units regarding best practice Injury Management and Workers Compensation, through implementing APIs early intervention approach.

Key accountabilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide strategic guidance and expertise to business units regarding Workers Compensation claims
  • Implement and deliver best practice, early intervention that drives improved and sustainable return to work outcomes
  • Drive the reduction of claims costs that impact premiums through strategic intervention and proactive injury management
  • Develop, coach and educate Managers and Supervisors in best practice first response, early intervention and injury management
  • Ensure compliance and promotion of all occupational health and safety policies and procedures
  • Provide information and technical advice on injury management and RTW best practice to drive continuous improvement
  • Achieve compliance in all aspects of administration and reporting for business areas

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills/attributes:

  • 3-5 years’ recent injury management experience at either an employer/insurer/consultancy environment
  • Demonstrated experience in early intervention and pro-active injury management
  • Current Drivers Licence with own vehicle
  • High Level of computer literacy/proven experience using computerised claims and injury management information systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualification as Return to Work Coordinator 
  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health/OT/Nursing/Psychology – preferred
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Elumina Quicksafe Claims module – preferred
