We currently have a requirement for an experienced and highly motivated Manager to support the Upstream PS business across Australia from our Perth office. As a genuine business partner, the position will provide strategic oversight and management of Human Resources (HR) related issues as well as day-to-day operational support across a broad range of generalist HR activities, with a focus on strong offshore and onshore IR experience.

 

The Role

 

Reporting to the Managing Director this role requires a person who can work autonomously and is highly self-motivated. Key responsibilities will include:

 

Performance Orientation

  • Development of training and associated materials to train and mentor key operations staff/management in strategies for continuous improvement of teams and team dynamics.

Team management:

  • management of staff including staff development, performance planning and review, performance improvement and delegation of duties.

Recruitment:

  • End-to-end conduct of recruitment assignments in the West (WA and NT).
  • Oversee and support conduct of recruitment assignments in the East (QLD, Vic and SA) and complete certain parts of a recruitment assignment.

Policy and Procedure:

  • Ownership and improvement of internal systems for management of our people, driving a performance oriented culture
  • Providing general advice to employees and managers on the substance and application of HR-related policies and procedures.

Worker's Compensation:

  • Management of worker's compensation claims and Return to Work.

Industrial/Employee Relations:

  • Provide specialist advice on complex and/or sensitive employment matters to Managers and Supervisors throughout the region.
  • Providing advice to employees, in relation to any matter which is relevant to their terms and conditions of employment, or which impacts on the employment relationship.
  • Lead Enterprise Agreement negotiations.

 

This role will require site visits both onshore and offshore.

 

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 8+ years' experience in Oil and Gas, with both onshore and offshore experience, with minimum 10+ years overall.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or another relevant discipline.
  • Industrial Relations experience and proficient knowledge of Fair Work Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving and supporting high performing teams.
