To support the University to deliver on its strategic priorities, we are looking for a Senior Workplace Relations Specialist - Academic Performance to join the Workplace Relations Team.
  
YOUR NEW ROLE
  
In this role you will report to the Associate Director, Workplace Relations and provide strategic workplace relations advice relating to complex academic performance matters. As part of a broader Human Resources team you will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners to deliver consistent and seamless HR Service to customers.
  
You will:
  • Provides expert advice, coaching and support to senior academic management and key stakeholders in complex academic performance matters.
  • Ensure case management plans and strategies are in place to effectively manage risks, communication, timeframes and cost.
  • Establish and maintain an up to date database to track progress and outcomes of academic performance matters.
  • Collate, analyse and provide routine and ad hoc reporting and metrics on workplace relations matters.
  • Manage, improve and implement best practices for the management of Academic Performance.
  • Contribute to projects as required to increase and foster an effective workplace culture and build capability for change, conflict management and underperformance.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with extensive workplace relations experience in a large and complex unionised environment, preferably within the Higher Education sector. In addition, you will have sound knowledge and practical application of current employment laws, regulations and industrial instruments to manage complex workplace relations matters. Your strong case management skills, proven ability to coach, influence and build effective relationships will be critical to your success in this role. Investigation experience, and proven expertise delivering high quality written outcomes and investigative reports are also essential.

Part time working arrangements will be considered for this position.
